ফসিল ফুয়েল শেষ হয়ে আসছে। তাই গ্রিন ফুয়েল ও বায়ো ফুয়েলের ব্যবহার কিভাবে বাড়ানো যায় সেই সম্ভাবনায় জোর দিতে হবে। ভারত সরকার বেশ কিছু পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে। একই সঙ্গে গাড়ি নির্মাণ সংস্থাগুলিও ইলেকট্রিক গাড়ির উৎপাদন শুরু করেছে। সব মিলিয়ে দেখা যাচ্ছে আশার আলো।
Government of India has stressed increase usage of biofuels in the energy and transportation sectors of the country. The policy aims to utilize, develop and promote domestic feedstock and its utilization for production of biofuels thereby increasingly substituting fossil fuels. National Policy on Biofuels 2018 envisages an indicative target of 20% blending of ethanol in petrol and 5% blending of bio-diesel in diesel by 2030.
To make the policy success, several steps are being taken.
- Addition of CNG facilities at retail outlets. As on 01.02.2020 Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies have installed CNG facilities at 1438 retail outlets in the country. As on 01.02.2020, a total of 1989 CNG Stations have been set up in the country.
- Setting up Compressed Bio Gas facilities under the Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation initiative of the Govt. of India.
- Dispensing BS VI Grade fuel with effect from 1.4.2020.
- Setting up of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations.
- Providing Piped Natural Gas Connection and establishment of Compressed Natural Gas Stations.
Meanwhile, Tata Motors has declared details for its Electric Car Sierra EV. On one charge of 30 KWH (units) it can go over 300 km. Which means 10 km on one unit. Which comes to approx 70 paise per km. Warranty on Battery valids 8 years / 1,60,000 km. Income tax waiver of @1.5 L for individual.
